Negative pressure cupping therapy is now available, and I've already been getting some great results for many of my clients. It's important to note that this form of cupping is a very gentle treatment and will not leave red marks like those seen with what you would normally associate with fire cupping and is not at all painful, so there will be no risk of you looking like an olympic swimmer. As a lymphatic drainage therapist, my work is always gentle as too much pressure will have the opposite effect that we are trying to achieve when working the lymphatic system. Negative pressure therapy is used to successfully treat many conditions affecting the lymphatic system, including but not limited to:
Lipoedema Lymphoedema Scar Tissue Post operative swelling and fibrosis Acute injuries Skin tightening and lifting Puffiness
Chronic muscular pain and tightness and much more..... HOW IT WORKS The device uses negative pressure to gently expand, stretch then release the skin at adjustable intervals by gently pulling the skin into the cups. This gentle lifting action relieves muscluar tension and allows for improved fluid exchange within the underlying tissues, accelerating lymphatic drainage and relieving swelling and congestion. The suction intensity can be adjusted to suit the individual, and at no time should it hurt. Rest assured that I will always work within your comfort levels. Negative therapy devices are used in all sorts of healthcare settings, including:
Oncology
Lymphoedema and Lipoedema clinics
Orthopaedics
Sports injury and rehabilitation
Neurology
Musculoskeletal disorders
Aesthetics and Beauty spas
Body shaping and contouring
Many of my clients have reported feeling much lighter after their cupping treatment, with reduced swelling and puffiness and in some cases a noticeable tightening of the skin. If you're interested in trying this out for yourself, simply book in for a lymphatic drainage treatment and it can be incorporated into your session, if it's deemed safe to do so after we've discussed your medical history.
