LIPOEDEMA TREATMENT

So what exactly is Lipoedema?

Lipoedema is a hereditary condition which predominantly affects women, it's characterized by an irregular accumulation of fat cells in certain areas of the body, especially the hips, legs, buttocks and occasionally arms, but never the feet and hands.

It is under diagnosed and many women suffer years of frustration and hurt from being told that they are overweight and just need to diet.  Ironically, one of the main symptoms of lipoedema is that it remains the same even after extreme weight loss.

What can you do about it?

Unfortunately, Lipoedema is not curable, but with more research being done each year, increased treatment options are available for this often painful and debilitating condition.

Surgery is usually seen as the last resort, but can be very successful.  Another useful management tool is regular lymphatic drainage along with compression, skin care, exercise and a ketogenic/anti inflammatory diet.

What I can do to help?

I offer tailored lymphatic drainage massage treatments especially for Lipoedema clients.  Regular sessions are advised to maintain results along with compression garments worn throughout out the day.

Treatments llast 60 minutes and will focus on opening up the lymphatic pathways, providing symptomatic relief with many clients reporting a reduction in swelling and a feeling of lightness post treatment.
